Hello, good morning. I have missed you guys!

Sadly, i broke my phone screen because of an insect that flew on me in the middle of the night. Really? I’m still wondering why it did that to me, LOL. I guess, i really needed the break off my mobile phone for a while.
I documented some of the things i did during the break that blessed my life and at the end i realized that with or without a mobile device you can still have a very productive time, Bless me God for sharing.
okay…
27th May
My sister left with my phone to get it fixed and i’m left with my PC, but i have decided to take a social media fast so NO, no logging in
I washed the pile of dirty clothes that has been staring and secretly pleading with me to get it cleaned and yipeee its not as boring as i thought.
28th May
I woke up excited. Feeling blessed to be a part of something big and been able to make a change in a way that matters.
Decided to write and I published a blog post on expectations.
Spend more time with my family without my phone and it was super fun.
Tried finishing a book but I gave up and started studying, i have been off and on with studying school work but I decided to take it serious this time around.
Tutored my cousin.
29th May
It’s Friday and I miss koinonia ( a meeting put together by Eternity network international).
I wrote an amazing piece and decided it was one of the best spoken words I have ever written and I am so ready to present it.
I am spending most of my time thanking God, guys it has still not downed on me that my phone is missing. oh, it’s not with me.
Friday evening, alone and studying. I went through all the dog and cat breeds material and it made my evening. I figured I actually love veterinary medicine more than I thought, and my friend was right when he said I needed to start blogging about Vet. Are you guys ready?
30th May
Well, it’s Saturday and I’m alive😒
I miss my friends and I’m so logging in. So I broke my social media fast and I logged on to Facebook and my twitter account. I even downloaded WhatsApp on my system but I didn’t use it. Please, I tried.
I miss helping and talking to people over the phone.
I also missed a zoom meeting but, I’m good. I’m halving a ME time and it’s worth it.
31st May
Hahaha…
I woke up and showered, I am going to go check on a few friends in faith.
LOL, you guessed right, none of them were around. Then it finally hit me, phones are important. We need to communicate’
I came back and removed my wig, I just wasted transport fare. I smiled and went back to my books, well I even read my younger sisters junior secondary school text books. And I watched some movies.
1st June
This day scammed me. Yes! I was scammed o…
I watched like six movies + Aquaman (finally) I actually enjoyed it.
Then I studied and prayed at night.
2nd June
Decided to make my hair and look like a babe, after my morning routine. I even gave my hair a good treatment before braiding it.
And…
Well, my phone arrived, it was a surprise 🌚
And I figured out that I actually love surprises.
The lesson
We are all focus on our phones that we forget to take care of ourselves. I am a victim, I take my phone everywhere. Sometimes it does the thinking. Our phones are helping and not helping us grow and we are hiding behind the excuse of having our phones as our place of work. Well yes, it is but you can actually take a break.
If we are not careful, technology is going to replace everything and everyone that is important to us. So take a break and learn something new.
Learn to talk and listen to God without your phones as a distraction, learn to think and hear yourself out. Learn to spend time alone without your phones cause I just realized that what we actually call spending time alone is not what it is.
When you decide to spend time alone, create a time when you don’t actually need your phone and enjoy talking to God.
Be intentional about your growth. Make sure you are growing when you say you are. You can only deceive yourself in the journey of growth.
Make sure you are growing intentionally and not incidentally.
If your phone is your place of work please note that you are going to need to take a break, you are going to need to rest. So create time for that.
Technology is a very vital part of our lives but we hope that they won’t replace us, they won’t replace our friends, they won’t take away our joy, happiness and peace.
It has been very helpful in this season and through our phones we have done and achieved a lot of things and we are grateful for that but please take a break, rest your eyes and your mind. RELAX!
I’m grateful for this six days, yes I didn’t actually complete the seven days. My phone was fixed before then, and I’m back to work, but I actually had one of the best moment of my life. Though it was incidental, but I’m actually going on an intentional break soon and I hope you do the same after reading this post.
